Cardiff MET duo depart for rivals

Cardiff MET has seen two of its players leave the club, with Lewis Rees joining Haverfordwest County and Matt Chubb moving to Briton Ferry Llansawel.

What happened?

Lewis Rees, a 27-year-old striker, has signed for Haverfordwest County ahead of the new season. He spent four years at Cardiff MET, scoring 31 goals and providing 28 assists in 181 appearances. Rees becomes the Bluebirds' third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Jordan Hackett and experienced midfielder Clayton Green.

Why it matters for Cardiff MET

The departure of Rees and Chubb leaves a gap in Cardiff MET's squad, particularly in the attacking department. The club will need to find suitable replacements to fill the void left by the duo.

What comes next?

Cardiff MET's next fixture is against Penybont at home on 2026-10-30, where they currently sit 12th in the table.
