Cardiff MET has completed the signing of experienced defender James Clarke as they prepare for the final stretch of the JD Cymru Premier season. The 36-year-old joins the Archers after leaving Newport County, bringing a wealth of experience from his 19-year professional career. Clarke will play a crucial role in helping Cardiff MET close the three-point gap to seventh-placed Haverfordwest County in the league standings. Clarke's career includes significant stints at clubs like Bristol Rovers, where he made 126 appearances and played a key role in their promotion from League Two. Despite announcing his retirement from professional football in January, Clarke has remained active in the sport, working within Cardiff MET's academy structure. His debut for the Archers could come on Saturday, February 21, when they face Flint Town United at the Essity Stadium. This signing is a strategic move for Cardiff MET as they aim to finish the season strongly and secure a higher league position.
