Cardiff MET have completed a significant squad overhaul following the closure of the Cymru Leagues summer transfer window. The club, currently seventh in the Cymru Premier, saw 15 players depart and welcomed six new faces.

The summer window for Cymru Premier and Cymru North clubs ran from June 15 until 11pm on September 1. After that deadline, clubs can only register free agents until the market reopens on January 1, 2027. For Cardiff MET, the period was defined by a high volume of exits, including several experienced players moving to clubs in England and Wales.

A total of 15 players departed the Cyncoed Campus. Key exits included attacking midfielder Tom English, who joined League One side Bristol Rovers, and winger Jack Veale, who made the move to EFL club Plymouth Argyle. Arron Davies secured a transfer to Port Vale, while Aaron Wildig moved to Gloucester City.

Further departures saw Liam Walsh join Aberystwyth Town, Lewis Rees move to Haverfordwest County, and Spencer Diamond sign for Larkhall Athletic. Bailey Gaughan headed to New Zealand's Northern Rovers, and Matt Chubb joined Cymru South side Briton Ferry Llansawel. Tim Ap Sion and Will Howard both moved to Tavistock, while Jake Morris and Kelland Absalom left for Cambrian United. Matt Richards also left the club, with his next destination not specified in the report.

Manager Christian Edwards moved to replenish his ranks with six additions. The most notable arrivals are two loan signings: forward Jack Hooper from Championship club Bristol City and midfielder Sam Snaith from fellow Welsh side Briton Ferry Llansawel.

The permanent signings include striker Adam Roscrow, who joins from Llantwit Major, defender Dan John from Trefelin, and winger Myles McKenzie from Newport County. Sam Seager also joined the club, though his previous club was not listed. These new players will be looking to make an immediate impact as Cardiff MET aim to close a six-point gap to league leaders The New Saints.

The extensive turnover presents both a challenge and an opportunity. Integrating six new players into a cohesive unit will be vital for Edwards. The team's current form has been inconsistent, with a recent run of DWWLL leaving them on 13 points from seven matches. They have scored 18 goals but conceded only nine, giving them a solid +9 goal difference.

Fans can track the progress of the new-look squad via the club's official squad page. The immediate focus will be on building momentum ahead of their next fixture, a home match against Penybont on October 30. Penybont currently sit one place above them in sixth, making it an important clash. The full schedule is available on our fixtures page.

With the transfer business now concluded, the focus shifts entirely to performances on the pitch. Cardiff MET's next opportunity to climb the table comes at home against Penybont on October 30.
